Ingredients
| 1 cup | fresh grated coconut |
| 1 cup | sugar |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 tablespoon | poppy seeds |
| 1 tablespoon | chopped almonds |
| 1 tablespoon | chopped cashews |
| — | pinch of salt |
Instructions
- 1 In a pan, add sugar and water, and bring it to a boil to make a syrup.
- 2 Once the syrup reaches a one-string consistency, add the grated coconut and mix well.
- 3 Add ghee, cardamom powder, poppy seeds, chopped almonds, chopped cashews, and a pinch of salt.
- 4 Stir continuously on a low flame until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- 5 Grease a flat plate with ghee and pour the mixture onto it.
- 6 Flatten the mixture evenly using a spatula.
- 7 Allow it to cool slightly, then cut into diamond or square shapes.
- 8 Let it cool completely before serving.
Tips
Ensure the sugar syrup reaches the correct consistency to help the vadi set properly.
