Ingredients

1 cup fresh grated coconut
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon ghee
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1 tablespoon chopped almonds
1 tablespoon chopped cashews
pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. 1 In a pan, add sugar and water, and bring it to a boil to make a syrup.
  2. 2 Once the syrup reaches a one-string consistency, add the grated coconut and mix well.
  3. 3 Add ghee, cardamom powder, poppy seeds, chopped almonds, chopped cashews, and a pinch of salt.
  4. 4 Stir continuously on a low flame until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. 5 Grease a flat plate with ghee and pour the mixture onto it.
  6. 6 Flatten the mixture evenly using a spatula.
  7. 7 Allow it to cool slightly, then cut into diamond or square shapes.
  8. 8 Let it cool completely before serving.
