Ingredients

1 cup | Rice flour |

1 cup | Jaggery |
|
1 cup | Banana , ripe, preferably Nendran variety |
|
1 teaspoon | Cardamom , powder |
|
— | Oil , for deep frying |

1/2 cup | Water |
Instructions
- 1 Peel and mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth.
- 2 In a separate bowl, dissolve the jaggery in 1/2 cup of water over low heat to make a syrup. Allow it to cool slightly.
- 3 In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, mashed bananas, and cardamom powder.
- 4 Gradually add the jaggery syrup to the mixture, stirring continuously to form a thick batter.
- 5 Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- 6 Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil.
- 7 Fry the pithe until they are golden brown on all sides.
- 8 Remove the pithe from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Tips
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent the pithe from absorbing too much oil.
