Ingredients

250 grams ground beef or lamb
1 small onion, grated
1 slice stale bread, soaked in water and squeezed dry
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground paprika
0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
salt to taste
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 egg
2 tablespoons olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1 In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, soaked bread, cumin, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic, parsley, and egg.
  2. 2 Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  3. 3 Shape the mixture into small, oval patties, about the size of a walnut.
  4. 4 Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. 5 Fry the köfte in batches, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. 6 Remove the köfte from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  7. 7 Serve hot with rice, salad, or pita bread.
