Ingredients
| 250 grams | prawns, cleaned and deveined |
| 2 tablespoons | oil |
| 1 cup | grated coconut |
| 1 medium | onion, finely chopped |
| 1 medium | tomato, finely chopped |
| 2 tablespoons | Malvani masala |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| — | salt to taste |
| 1 tablespoon | tamarind pulp |
| 1 tablespoon | coriander leaves, chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- 3 Add the chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft.
- 4 Add Malvani masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- 5 Add the prawns and stir well to coat them with the spices.
- 6 Cook the prawns for about 5-7 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- 7 Add the grated coconut and tamarind pulp, mix well.
- 8 Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
- 9 Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a richer flavor, you can roast the coconut slightly before adding it to the dish.
