Ingredients
| 3 cups | puffed rice (murmura) |
| 2 tablespoons | oil |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 2 tablespoons | peanuts |
| 1 tablespoon | chana dal |
| 1 tablespoon | urad dal |
| 1 pinch | asafoetida (hing) |
| 8-10 | curry leaves |
| 2 teaspoons | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 tablespoon | powdered sugar |
| — | salt to taste |
| 1 tablespoon | garlic, finely chopped |
| 1 tablespoon | fresh coriander, chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- 3 Add cumin seeds, peanuts, chana dal, and urad dal. Sauté until they turn golden brown.
- 4 Add asafoetida and curry leaves. Stir well.
- 5 Add finely chopped garlic and sauté until it turns light brown.
- 6 Reduce the heat to low and add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 7 Add the puffed rice to the pan and mix thoroughly to coat it with the spices.
- 8 Add powdered sugar and mix again to combine all the ingredients evenly.
- 9 Turn off the heat and let the Bhadang cool down to room temperature.
- 10 Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.

Store in an airtight container to keep it crispy for a longer time.
