Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, allowing them to splutter.
- 3 Add the chopped onion and green chili, sauté until the onion turns translucent.
- 4 Add the chopped tomato and cook until soft.
- 5 Stir in the grated carrot and green peas, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
- 6 Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt, mixing well.
- 7 Add the idiyappam to the pan, gently breaking it apart and mixing with the vegetables.
- 8 Cook for another 3-4 minutes, ensuring the idiyappam is well coated with the spices.
- 9 Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
Tips
For added flavor, you can include a handful of roasted peanuts or cashews.
