Ingredients
| 1 cup | all-purpose flour |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| 1 cup | grated coconut |
| 1/2 cup | jaggery |
| 1/2 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1/4 cup | water |
| 6-8 | cloves |
| 1 cup | oil for frying |
Instructions
- 1 In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with 2 tablespoons of ghee and a pinch of salt. Add water gradually to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- 2 In a pan, heat the grated coconut and jaggery together until the jaggery melts and combines with the coconut. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Set aside to cool.
- 3 Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a small circle.
- 4 Place a spoonful of the coconut-jaggery mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the edges over the filling to form a parcel.
- 5 Secure each parcel with a clove, piercing through the dough to keep it closed.
- 6 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the parcels until golden brown and crisp.
- 7 Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery mixture is cooled before filling to avoid tearing the dough.
