Ingredients
| 2 cups | whole wheat flour |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| as needed | water |
| as needed | ghee for cooking |
Instructions
- 1 In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.
- 2 Add ghee to the flour and mix well to incorporate.
- 3 Gradually add water and knead to form a soft, pliable dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 4 Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- 5 Take one dough ball, dust it with flour, and roll it out into a thin circle.
- 6 Spread a thin layer of ghee over the rolled dough.
- 7 Using a knife, make a cut from the center to the edge of the circle.
- 8 Start rolling the dough from one end to the other to form a cone shape.
- 9 Press the cone down gently to flatten it slightly and roll it out again into a circle.
- 10 Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium heat and place the rolled paratha on it.
- 11 Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles appear, then flip it over.
- 12 Apply ghee on the cooked side and flip again. Apply ghee on the other side as well.
- 13 Cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
- 14 Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
- 15 Serve hot with your choice of curry or yogurt.
Tips
For flakier parathas, ensure the dough is well-rested and roll it out evenly.
