Ingredients
| 1 cup | black sticky rice |
| 4 cups | water |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 1 tablespoon | jaggery |
Instructions
- 1 Rinse the black sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- 2 In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice and water.
- 3 Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 4 Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
- 5 Check the rice; it should be tender and the water mostly absorbed. If necessary, cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- 6 Stir in a pinch of salt and the jaggery, mixing well until the jaggery is fully dissolved.
- 7 Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes before serving.
Tips
For a richer taste, you can add a splash of coconut milk before serving.
