Ingredients
| 6 sheets | lasagne noodles |
| 1 tablespoon | olive oil |
| 1 small | onion, chopped |
| 2 cloves | garlic, minced |
| 250 grams | ground beef |
| 1 cup | tomato sauce |
| 1 teaspoon | dried oregano |
| 1 teaspoon | dried basil |
| 1 cup | ricotta cheese |
| 1 cup | mozzarella cheese, shredded |
| 0.5 cup | Parmesan cheese, grated |
| — | salt to taste |
| — | black pepper to taste |
Instructions
- 1 Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2 In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
- 3 Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- 4 Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- 5 In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the lasagne noodles according to package instructions and drain.
- 6 Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- 7 Place a layer of lasagne noodles over the sauce.
- 8 Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
- 9 Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with meat sauce and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- 10 Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- 11 Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- 12 Let the lasagne cool for a few minutes before serving.
Tips
For a richer flavor, prepare the meat sauce a day in advance to allow the flavors to meld together.
