Ingredients

10-12 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon oil
salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel the garlic cloves and set them aside.
  2. 2 In a mortar and pestle, crush the garlic cloves coarsely.
  3. 3 Add the red chili powder and cumin seeds to the crushed garlic and mix well.
  4. 4 Add lemon juice and salt to the mixture and combine thoroughly.
  5. 5 Heat oil in a small pan over medium heat.
  6. 6 Once the oil is hot, pour it over the garlic mixture and mix well.
  7. 7 Allow the chutney to rest for at least 10 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
