Ingredients

1 cup plain yogurt
1 medium cucumber
1 medium tomato
1 small onion
1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves
1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
0.5 teaspoon black salt
0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel and finely chop the cucumber.
  2. 2 Finely chop the tomato and onion.
  3. 3 Chop the fresh mint leaves and coriander leaves.
  4. 4 In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
  5. 5 Add the chopped cucumber, tomato, and onion to the yogurt.
  6. 6 Mix in the chopped mint and coriander leaves.
  7. 7 Add roasted cumin powder, black salt, red chili powder, and salt to taste.
  8. 8 Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  9. 9 Chill the raita in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Tips

For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of chaat masala to the raita.
