Ingredients

200 grams dried beef
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cups water
1 teaspoon bamboo shoot (optional)
fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1 Cut the dried beef into small pieces.
  2. 2 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. 3 Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  4. 4 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
  5. 5 Add the dried beef pieces to the pan and stir well.
  6. 6 Add salt, red chili powder, and turmeric powder, and mix thoroughly.
  7. 7 Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
  8. 8 Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 30 minutes or until the beef is tender.
  9. 9 If using, add bamboo shoot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  10. 10 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Tips

For a more authentic taste, use smoked dried beef if available.
