Ingredients

Fish 250 grams Fish , small, like Indian anchovy or any small freshwater fish
Onion 1 medium Onion , finely sliced
Garlic 2 cloves Garlic , finely chopped
Ginger 1 inch Ginger , finely chopped
mustard oil 2 tablespoons Mustard oil
turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
salt Salt , to taste
Cilantro 2 tablespoons Cilantro , chopped
Green Chili 1 teaspoon Green Chili , chopped, optional

Instructions

  1. 1 Clean the fish thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. 2 In a bowl, marinate the fish with turmeric powder and salt. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  3. 3 Heat mustard oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. 4 Add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  5. 5 Add the chopped garlic and ginger, and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  6. 6 Add the marinated fish to the pan and spread them out evenly.
  7. 7 Fry the fish on medium heat until they are crispy and golden brown on both sides, turning occasionally.
  8. 8 Add chopped green chili if using, and sauté for another minute.
  9. 9 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
