| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 1 cup | onion, finely chopped |
| 1 cup | tomato, finely chopped |
| 1 teaspoon | ginger-garlic paste |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 teaspoon | coriander powder |
| 1 teaspoon | garam masala |
| — | salt to taste |
| 2 tablespoons | fresh coriander leaves, chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
- 3 Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- 4 Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
- 5 Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
- 6 Mix in the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- 7 Add the corn kernels and mix well, ensuring they are coated with the spices.
- 8 Cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- 9 Once the corn is cooked, add garam masala and mix well.
- 10 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a smoky flavor, roast the corn on an open flame before adding it to the dish.
