Ingredients

300 grams beef, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 cup sliced onions
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
2 green chilies, slit
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoons red chili powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 cup coconut slices
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tablespoon lemon juice
salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. 2 Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. 3 Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
  4. 4 Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  5. 5 Add the beef pieces and stir to coat with the spices.
  6. 6 Cover and cook on low heat until the beef is tender, stirring occasionally.
  7. 7 Add coconut slices, curry leaves, and garam masala. Mix well and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
  8. 8 Finish with a drizzle of lemon juice before serving.

Tips

For an authentic taste, use freshly ground spices and fresh coconut slices.
