1 tablespoon | Coconut oil |

1 teaspoon | Mustard Seed |
|
1 cup | Onion , thinly sliced |

1 tablespoon | Ginger-garlic paste |

2 teaspoons | Red chili powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Coriander powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Black pepper powder |
|
1 cup | Tomato , chopped |
|
1 sprig | Curry Leaf |
|
2 | Green Chili , slit |
|
— | Salt , to taste |

1 tablespoon | Lemon juice |

2 tablespoons | Cilantro , chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat and add mustard seeds.
- 2 Once the mustard seeds splutter, add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
- 3 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
- 4 Stir in red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and black pepper powder. Mix well.
- 5 Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and oil starts to separate.
- 6 Add the cleaned prawns, salt to taste, curry leaves, and green chilies. Mix well to coat the prawns with the masala.
- 7 Cook the prawns on medium heat until they are cooked through and the masala is well roasted.
- 8 Finish with lemon juice and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
For a more authentic taste, use fresh coconut oil and serve with steamed rice or appam.
