Ingredients

1 cup mawa (khoya)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 tablespoon ghee
1 tablespoon chopped pistachios
1 tablespoon chopped almonds

Instructions

  1. 1 In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
  2. 2 Add the mawa (khoya) to the pan and cook, stirring continuously, until it becomes soft and slightly golden.
  3. 3 Pour in the heavy cream and mix well, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  4. 4 Add the sugar and continue to cook, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  5. 5 Sprinkle the cardamom powder into the mixture and mix thoroughly.
  6. 6 Grease a small plate or tray with a little ghee.
  7. 7 Pour the mixture onto the greased plate and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  8. 8 Garnish with chopped pistachios and almonds, pressing them gently into the surface.
  9. 9 Allow the mixture to cool and set at room temperature.
  10. 10 Once set, cut the barfi into desired shapes and serve.

Tips

Ensure the mixture is stirred continuously to prevent it from sticking to the pan and burning.
