Ingredients
| 1 cup | mawa (khoya) |
| 1/2 cup | heavy cream |
| 1/2 cup | sugar |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1 tablespoon | chopped pistachios |
| 1 tablespoon | chopped almonds |
Instructions
- 1 In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
- 2 Add the mawa (khoya) to the pan and cook, stirring continuously, until it becomes soft and slightly golden.
- 3 Pour in the heavy cream and mix well, cooking until the mixture thickens.
- 4 Add the sugar and continue to cook, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- 5 Sprinkle the cardamom powder into the mixture and mix thoroughly.
- 6 Grease a small plate or tray with a little ghee.
- 7 Pour the mixture onto the greased plate and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- 8 Garnish with chopped pistachios and almonds, pressing them gently into the surface.
- 9 Allow the mixture to cool and set at room temperature.
- 10 Once set, cut the barfi into desired shapes and serve.
Tips
Ensure the mixture is stirred continuously to prevent it from sticking to the pan and burning.
