Ingredients

Mutton 500 grams Mutton , cut into pieces
oil 2 tablespoons Oil
Mustard Seed 1 teaspoon Mustard Seed
Cumin 1 teaspoon Cumin , seeds
ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
Onion 2 medium Onion , finely sliced
red chili powder 2 teaspoons Red chili powder
turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
coriander powder 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
garam masala 1 teaspoon Garam masala
Curry Leaf 2 sprigs Curry Leaf
Cilantro 2 tablespoons Cilantro , chopped
salt Salt , to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Clean the mutton pieces thoroughly and set aside.
  2. 2 Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
  3. 3 Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, allowing them to splutter.
  4. 4 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
  5. 5 Add sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  6. 6 Add mutton pieces to the pan and stir well.
  7. 7 Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  8. 8 Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the mutton is tender, stirring occasionally. This may take about 30-40 minutes.
  9. 9 Once the mutton is cooked, increase the heat and fry until the oil separates from the masala.
  10. 10 Add garam masala and curry leaves, mixing well.
  11. 11 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.

Tips

For a richer taste, you can add a splash of lemon juice before serving.
