Ingredients
| 1 cup | glutinous rice |
| 1 1/2 cups | coconut milk |
| 1 cup | sugar |
| 1/2 teaspoon | salt |
| 2 | ripe mangoes |
| 1 tablespoon | sesame seeds |
Instructions
- 1 Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- 2 Soak the rice in water for at least 1 hour, then drain.
- 3 Steam the rice in a bamboo steamer or a rice cooker for about 20-25 minutes until cooked.
- 4 While the rice is cooking, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 5 Stir until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat.
- 6 Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and pour 1 cup of the coconut milk mixture over it.
- 7 Stir well to combine, then cover and let it sit for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 8 Peel and slice the mangoes.
- 9 To serve, place a portion of sticky rice on a plate, arrange mango slices on top or beside the rice.
- 10 Drizzle with the remaining coconut milk mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Tips
For a more aromatic dish, try adding a pandan leaf to the coconut milk mixture while heating.
