Ingredients
| 1 cup | Manimuni leaves (Gotu Kola) |
| 1 cup | besan (gram flour) |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 tablespoon | ginger-garlic paste |
| 1 pinch | asafoetida (hing) |
| 1 to taste | salt |
| — | oil for deep frying |
Instructions
- 1 Wash the Manimuni leaves thoroughly and chop them finely.
- 2 In a mixing bowl, combine besan, water, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste, asafoetida, and salt to form a smooth batter.
- 3 Add the chopped Manimuni leaves to the batter and mix well.
- 4 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- 5 Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil.
- 6 Fry the boras (fritters) until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- 7 Remove the boras using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- 8 Serve hot with tea or as a side dish.
Tips
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent the boras from absorbing too much oil.
