Ingredients

1 cup Manimuni leaves (Gotu Kola)
1 cup besan (gram flour)
1 cup water
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
1 to taste salt
oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash the Manimuni leaves thoroughly and chop them finely.
  2. 2 In a mixing bowl, combine besan, water, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste, asafoetida, and salt to form a smooth batter.
  3. 3 Add the chopped Manimuni leaves to the batter and mix well.
  4. 4 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. 5 Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil.
  6. 6 Fry the boras (fritters) until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  7. 7 Remove the boras using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. 8 Serve hot with tea or as a side dish.

Tips

Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent the boras from absorbing too much oil.
