Instructions
- 1 In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water. Mix until a dough forms.
- 2 Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
- 3 In a separate bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, black pepper, red pepper flakes, olive oil, and salt. Mix well.
- 4 Divide the dough into two pieces. Roll out each piece into a thin sheet, about 1/16 inch thick.
- 5 Cut the dough into small squares, about 1.5 inches on each side.
- 6 Place a small amount of the meat filling in the center of each square.
- 7 Fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle, then pinch the edges to seal.
- 8 Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the mantı and cook for about 8-10 minutes until they float to the surface.
- 9 In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the dried mint. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 10 Mix the yogurt with the minced garlic and salt to taste.
- 11 Drain the cooked mantı and serve with the garlic yogurt sauce and drizzle with the mint butter.
Tips
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of sumac to the yogurt sauce.
