Ingredients

Flour 2 cups Flour
salt 1 teaspoon Salt , to taste
Egg 1 large Egg
water 0.5 cup Water
Ground Meat 200 grams Ground Meat , beef or lamb
Onion 1 small Onion , finely chopped
Black Pepper 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper , to taste
Red Pepper Flake 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flake
olive oil 1 tablespoon Olive oil
Yogurt 1 cup Yogurt , plain
Garlic 2 cloves Garlic , minced
butter 2 tablespoons Butter
Mint 1 teaspoon Mint , dried

Instructions

  1. 1 In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. 2 Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  3. 3 In a separate bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, black pepper, red pepper flakes, olive oil, and salt. Mix well.
  4. 4 Divide the dough into two pieces. Roll out each piece into a thin sheet, about 1/16 inch thick.
  5. 5 Cut the dough into small squares, about 1.5 inches on each side.
  6. 6 Place a small amount of the meat filling in the center of each square.
  7. 7 Fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle, then pinch the edges to seal.
  8. 8 Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the mantı and cook for about 8-10 minutes until they float to the surface.
  9. 9 In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the dried mint. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  10. 10 Mix the yogurt with the minced garlic and salt to taste.
  11. 11 Drain the cooked mantı and serve with the garlic yogurt sauce and drizzle with the mint butter.

Tips

For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of sumac to the yogurt sauce.
