Ingredients
| 1 bunch | maroi nakuppi (Chinese chives) |
| 1 cup | besan (gram flour) |
| 1 medium | onion, finely chopped |
| 2 cloves | garlic, minced |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 0.5 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| — | salt to taste |
| — | water as needed |
| — | oil for frying |
Instructions
- 1 Wash the maroi nakuppi thoroughly and chop it finely.
- 2 In a mixing bowl, combine besan, chopped maroi nakuppi, onion, garlic, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- 3 Gradually add water to the mixture to form a thick batter.
- 4 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- 5 Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil.
- 6 Fry the fritters until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- 7 Remove the fritters and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
- 8 Serve hot as a snack or side dish.
Tips
Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent the fritters from absorbing too much oil.
