Ingredients
| 1 cup | mawa (khoya) |
| 1 cup | all-purpose flour |
| 1 cup | milk |
| 1 tablespoon | fennel seeds |
| 1 tablespoon | sugar |
| 1/4 teaspoon | baking powder |
Instructions
- 1 In a bowl, crumble the mawa and mix it with all-purpose flour, milk, fennel seeds, sugar, and baking powder to form a smooth batter.
- 2 Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.
- 3 Meanwhile, prepare the sugar syrup by boiling 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup of water until it reaches a sticky consistency. Add cardamom powder and set aside.
- 4 Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.
- 5 Pour a small ladleful of batter into the hot ghee and fry until golden brown on both sides.
- 6 Remove the malpua from the ghee and dip it in the warm sugar syrup for a few seconds.
- 7 Garnish with chopped nuts before serving.
Tips
Ensure the sugar syrup is warm when dipping the malpua for better absorption.
