Ingredients
| 1 cup | whole wheat flour |
| 1/2 cup | jaggery |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| — | oil for shallow frying |
Instructions
- 1 In a bowl, dissolve the jaggery in water by stirring continuously until fully melted.
- 2 Add whole wheat flour to the jaggery water mixture gradually, stirring to avoid lumps.
- 3 Mix in the cardamom powder and ghee, and whisk the batter until smooth and of pouring consistency.
- 4 Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil.
- 5 Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a circular shape.
- 6 Cook on medium heat until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden brown.
- 7 Flip the pooda and cook the other side until golden brown.
- 8 Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
- 9 Serve hot as a sweet snack or dessert.
Tips
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of saffron strands to the batter.
