Ingredients
| 2 cups | water |
| 2 tablespoons | black tea leaves |
| 1/4 teaspoon | salt |
| 2 tablespoons | unsalted butter |
| 1/4 cup | whole milk |
Instructions
- 1 Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
- 2 Add the black tea leaves and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- 3 Strain the tea leaves and return the tea to the saucepan.
- 4 Add salt to the tea and stir until dissolved.
- 5 Add the butter and milk to the tea.
- 6 Use a churner or blender to blend the mixture until it becomes frothy and well emulsified.
- 7 Pour the butter tea into cups and serve hot.
Tips
For an authentic taste, use yak butter if available.
