Ingredients

250 grams minced mutton
2 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
1 egg
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
to taste salt
2 hard-boiled eggs
2 tablespoons oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 cup tomato puree
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
1/2 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon fresh cream
1 tablespoon fresh coriander, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1 In a bowl, mix minced mutton, gram flour, egg, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Knead into a smooth mixture.
  2. 2 Divide the mixture into two portions. Flatten each portion and wrap it around a hard-boiled egg, ensuring it's evenly coated.
  3. 3 Heat oil in a pan and fry the koftas on medium heat until they are golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. 4 In the same pan, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  5. 5 Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, fennel seeds, and cook until the oil separates from the masala.
  6. 6 Whisk yogurt and add it to the pan. Cook for another 5 minutes on low heat.
  7. 7 Add the fried koftas to the gravy and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. 8 Finish with fresh cream and garnish with chopped coriander before serving.

Tips

For a richer flavor, marinate the mutton mixture for an hour before cooking.
