Ingredients
| 1 cup | grated fresh coconut |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 1 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
Instructions
- 1 In a pan, heat the ghee over low heat.
- 2 Add the grated coconut and sauté for 2-3 minutes until it is slightly dry.
- 3 Add the jaggery to the coconut and mix well.
- 4 Cook the mixture on low heat until the jaggery melts and combines with the coconut, stirring continuously.
- 5 Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
- 6 Continue to cook until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- 7 Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 8 Once cool enough to handle, take small portions of the mixture and roll them into small balls or 'laaru'.
- 9 Allow the 'laaru' to cool completely before serving.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery is completely melted and mixed with the coconut for a smooth texture.
