Ingredients

2 cups grated coconut
1 cup jaggery
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
ghee for greasing

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat a pan on medium flame and add the grated coconut.
  2. 2 Stir the coconut for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes slightly dry.
  3. 3 Add the jaggery to the pan and mix well with the coconut.
  4. 4 Cook the mixture on low flame, stirring continuously until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  5. 5 Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
  6. 6 Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  7. 7 Grease your palms with a little ghee and take small portions of the mixture.
  8. 8 Shape them into small round balls (narus) while the mixture is still warm.
  9. 9 Allow the narkel narus to cool completely before serving.

Tips

Use fresh coconut for the best taste. Adjust the amount of jaggery according to your sweetness preference.
