Ingredients

3 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup warm water
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small red chili, finely sliced
shredded carrot for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1 In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in the warm water.
  2. 2 Add the fish sauce and lime juice to the sugar water, stirring well to combine.
  3. 3 Mix in the minced garlic and sliced chili.
  4. 4 Taste the sauce and adjust the flavors if necessary, adding more lime juice, sugar, or fish sauce to suit your preference.
  5. 5 Optionally, add shredded carrot for garnish and extra texture.

Tips

For a milder sauce, remove the seeds from the chili before slicing.
