Ingredients

1 cup cooked rice
3 cups water
1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash the cooked rice under running water to remove excess starch.
  2. 2 Place the washed rice in a bowl and add 1 cup of water to it.
  3. 3 Cover the bowl and let the rice soak overnight or for at least 6-8 hours.
  4. 4 Before serving, finely chop the onion and green chilies.
  5. 5 Drain any excess water from the soaked rice.
  6. 6 Add the chopped onion, green chilies, mustard oil, and salt to taste to the soaked rice.
  7. 7 Mix well and serve as a refreshing dish.

Tips

For a more traditional touch, serve with fried fish or mashed potatoes.
