Ingredients
| 1 cup | roasted chana dal (pappulu) |
| 1/4 cup | dry red chilies |
| 1 tablespoon | cumin seeds |
| 1/2 teaspoon | asafoetida |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 tablespoon | oil |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add dry red chilies and cumin seeds to the pan and roast until the chilies turn dark but not burnt.
- 3 Remove the roasted chilies and cumin seeds from the pan and let them cool.
- 4 In a blender, add roasted chana dal, cooled red chilies, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and salt.
- 5 Grind the mixture to a fine powder.
- 6 Store the Pappula Podi in an airtight container.
Tips
Adjust the number of red chilies to suit your spice preference.
