Ingredients

2 cups | Whole wheat flour |

1 teaspoon | Salt |
|
2 tablespoons | Ghee or oil |
|
as needed | Water |

as needed | Flour , extra, for dusting |

as needed | Ghee , or oil for cooking |
Instructions
- 1 In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour and salt.
- 2 Add ghee or oil to the flour and mix well.
- 3 Gradually add water and knead to form a soft, smooth dough.
- 4 Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- 5 Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
- 6 Roll each ball into a small disc using a rolling pin, dusting with flour as needed.
- 7 Spread a little ghee or oil on the disc, fold it in half, and then fold again to form a triangle.
- 8 Roll the triangle into a larger, thin triangle, dusting with flour as needed.
- 9 Heat a tawa or skillet over medium heat.
- 10 Place the rolled paratha on the hot tawa and cook until bubbles appear on the surface.
- 11 Flip the paratha and apply ghee or oil on the cooked side.
- 12 Cook the other side until golden brown spots appear, applying ghee or oil as needed.
- 13 Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
- 14 Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or curry of choice.
Tips
For softer parathas, use warm water to knead the dough.
