Ingredients
| 1 cup | vermicelli |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1/4 cup | sugar |
| 2 tablespoons | raisins |
| 2 tablespoons | slivered almonds |
| 1 1/2 cups | water |
| — | pinch of saffron strands |
| — | salt to taste |
Instructions
- 1 Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add the vermicelli and roast until golden brown, stirring continuously to avoid burning.
- 3 In a separate saucepan, bring water to a boil.
- 4 Add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron strands, and a pinch of salt to the boiling water.
- 5 Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
- 6 Pour the sugar syrup over the roasted vermicelli.
- 7 Add raisins and slivered almonds.
- 8 Cover the pan and let it cook on low heat until the vermicelli absorbs all the liquid and becomes soft.
- 9 Fluff the sev gently with a fork before serving.
Tips
For a richer taste, you can add a few drops of rose water or kewra essence.
