Ingredients

1 cup | Gram Flour |

1 teaspoon | Turmeric powder |

1 teaspoon | Red chili powder |
|
1 teaspoon | Cumin , seeds |

1 teaspoon | Mustard Seed |

1 tablespoon | Oil |
|
1 cup | Water |
|

Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- 2 Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring continuously to form a smooth batter.
- 3 Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter.
- 4 Pour the batter into the pan and cook on low heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- 5 Spread the thickened batter evenly on a greased plate and let it cool. Once set, cut into diamond or square shapes to make patodi.
- 6 Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until fragrant.
- 7 Add the chopped onion and cook until golden brown.
- 8 Stir in coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
- 9 Add coconut milk and 2 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 10 Gently add the patodi pieces into the boiling curry and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- 11 Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
Tips
For a richer taste, you can add a pinch of asafoetida (hing) while tempering the spices.
