1 cup | Rice flour |

2 | Banana , ripe, preferably Nendran variety |

1/4 cup | Coconut , grated |
|
1/4 cup | Jaggery |
|
1/4 teaspoon | Cardamom , powder |
|
1 pinch | Salt |
|
2 | Banana Leaf |
Instructions
- 1 Peel and mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth.
- 2 Add rice flour, grated coconut, jaggery, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt to the mashed bananas.
- 3 Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to form a thick batter-like consistency.
- 4 Cut the banana leaves into rectangular pieces and wilt them slightly over a flame to make them pliable.
- 5 Place a spoonful of the banana mixture onto each banana leaf piece and spread it evenly.
- 6 Fold the banana leaf over the mixture to form a parcel.
- 7 Heat a steamer with water and place the banana leaf parcels inside.
- 8 Steam the parcels for about 15-20 minutes until the mixture is cooked through.
- 9 Remove from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.
Tips
Ensure the banana leaves are pliable to avoid tearing when folding.
