Ingredients

1 cup rice flour
2 ripe bananas
1/4 cup grated coconut
1/4 cup jaggery
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 pinch salt
2 banana leaves

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel and mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth.
  2. 2 Add rice flour, grated coconut, jaggery, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt to the mashed bananas.
  3. 3 Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to form a thick batter-like consistency.
  4. 4 Cut the banana leaves into rectangular pieces and wilt them slightly over a flame to make them pliable.
  5. 5 Place a spoonful of the banana mixture onto each banana leaf piece and spread it evenly.
  6. 6 Fold the banana leaf over the mixture to form a parcel.
  7. 7 Heat a steamer with water and place the banana leaf parcels inside.
  8. 8 Steam the parcels for about 15-20 minutes until the mixture is cooked through.
  9. 9 Remove from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.

Tips

Ensure the banana leaves are pliable to avoid tearing when folding.
