Ingredients

1 cup barley flour
2 cups water
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. 1 In a pot, bring the water to a boil.
  2. 2 Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water.
  3. 3 Gradually add the barley flour to the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. 4 Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. 5 Once the mixture thickens and becomes smooth, remove it from the heat.
  6. 6 Stir in the butter until it is fully melted and incorporated.
  7. 7 Serve hot as a side dish or a main dish.

Tips

For a richer taste, you can substitute butter with ghee.
