Ingredients

3 ripe bananas (preferably pisang raja or cavendish)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons rice flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise.
  2. 2 In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rice flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3 Gradually add the water to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
  4. 4 Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. 5 Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  6. 6 Dip each banana piece into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  7. 7 Carefully place the coated bananas into the hot oil.
  8. 8 Fry the bananas until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  9. 9 Remove the bananas from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  10. 10 Serve the pisang goreng warm.

Tips

For an extra crispy texture, add a little more rice flour to the batter.
