Ingredients

1 cup sticky rice or bora saul
1 cup jaggery
1 cup water
1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash the sticky rice thoroughly and spread it out on a clean cloth to dry completely.
  2. 2 Once dried, grind the rice into a coarse powder to make 'pitha guri'.
  3. 3 In a pan, add the jaggery and water, and heat until the jaggery melts completely, forming a syrup.
  4. 4 Add a pinch of salt to the syrup to enhance the flavor.
  5. 5 Slowly mix the pitha guri into the jaggery syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. 6 Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  7. 7 Once the desired consistency is reached, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  8. 8 Serve warm as a sweet dish.

Tips

Use fresh jaggery for a richer taste and adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
