| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1 pinch | salt |
Instructions
- 1 Wash the sticky rice thoroughly and spread it out on a clean cloth to dry completely.
- 2 Once dried, grind the rice into a coarse powder to make 'pitha guri'.
- 3 In a pan, add the jaggery and water, and heat until the jaggery melts completely, forming a syrup.
- 4 Add a pinch of salt to the syrup to enhance the flavor.
- 5 Slowly mix the pitha guri into the jaggery syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 6 Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- 7 Once the desired consistency is reached, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 8 Serve warm as a sweet dish.
Tips
Use fresh jaggery for a richer taste and adjust the sweetness according to your preference.
