Ingredients

2 cups water
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup yak milk or whole milk
2 tablespoons black tea leaves

Instructions

  1. 1 In a pot, bring water to a boil.
  2. 2 Add the black tea leaves and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. 3 Strain the tea leaves and return the tea to the pot.
  4. 4 Add the yak milk or whole milk to the tea.
  5. 5 Add the butter and salt to the mixture.
  6. 6 Bring the mixture to a boil and add a pinch of baking soda.
  7. 7 Stir continuously for 5-7 minutes until the butter melts and the mixture is well combined.
  8. 8 Pour the Po Cha into cups and serve hot.

Tips

For an authentic taste, use yak butter if available.
