Ingredients
| 1 cup | cooked rice |
| 2 cups | water |
| 1 small | onion, finely chopped |
| 2 tablespoons | mustard oil |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 | green chili, chopped |
| 1 tablespoon | fresh coriander leaves, chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Wash the cooked rice under running water to remove excess starch.
- 2 Soak the washed rice in 2 cups of water overnight or for at least 6-8 hours.
- 3 Drain the water from the soaked rice before serving.
- 4 In a mixing bowl, combine the soaked rice with mustard oil, chopped onion, green chili, and salt.
- 5 Mix well to ensure the flavors are evenly distributed.
- 6 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
Tips
Poita Bhat is best served chilled and can be accompanied with mashed potatoes or fried fish for a complete meal.
