Ingredients
| 250 grams | prawns, cleaned and deveined |
| 2 tablespoons | oil |
| 1 large | onion, finely chopped |
| 1 teaspoon | ginger-garlic paste |
| 2 medium | tomatoes, finely chopped |
| 1 teaspoon | cumin seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 teaspoon | coriander powder |
| 1 tablespoon | vinegar |
| 1 tablespoon | jaggery, grated |
| — | salt to taste |
| 2 tablespoons | fresh coriander leaves, chopped |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Allow them to crackle.
- 2 Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- 3 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
- 4 Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and oil separates.
- 5 Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 6 Add the prawns and cook for 5-7 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.
- 7 Add vinegar and jaggery, stir well, and let it simmer for a few more minutes.
- 8 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
Tips
Adjust the jaggery and vinegar to balance the sweet and sour taste to your preference.
