Ingredients

250 grams prawns, cleaned and deveined
2 tablespoons oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon jaggery, grated
salt to taste
2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Allow them to crackle.
  2. 2 Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. 3 Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
  4. 4 Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and oil separates.
  5. 5 Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. 6 Add the prawns and cook for 5-7 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.
  7. 7 Add vinegar and jaggery, stir well, and let it simmer for a few more minutes.
  8. 8 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.

Tips

Adjust the jaggery and vinegar to balance the sweet and sour taste to your preference.
