Ingredients

1 cup basmati rice
1 cup minced pork
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 inch ginger, minced
1 tablespoon mustard oil
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
salt to taste
2 cups water
2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash and soak the basmati rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
  2. 2 Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. 3 Add chopped onions, minced garlic, and ginger to the pan. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
  4. 4 Add the minced pork to the pan and cook until it turns brown.
  5. 5 Stir in the turmeric powder, black pepper powder, and salt.
  6. 6 Add the soaked and drained rice to the pan, stirring well to combine with the pork mixture.
  7. 7 Pour in 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
  8. 8 Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
  9. 9 Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Tips

For an authentic taste, use mustard oil as it adds a distinct flavor to the dish.
