Ingredients
| 500 grams | chicken, cut into pieces |
| 2 tablespoons | vegetable oil |
| 1 teaspoon | mustard seeds |
| 10 | curry leaves |
| 1 medium | onion, finely chopped |
| 1 teaspoon | turmeric powder |
| 1 tablespoon | tamarind pulp |
| 2 tablespoons | Puli Munchi masala powder |
| 1 cup | water |
| — | salt to taste |
Instructions
- 1 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 2 Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
- 3 Add curry leaves and chopped onions, sauté until onions turn golden brown.
- 4 Add turmeric powder and mix well.
- 5 Add the chicken pieces and sauté until they are lightly browned.
- 6 Mix in the tamarind pulp and Puli Munchi masala powder.
- 7 Pour in the water and add salt to taste.
- 8 Cover and cook on low heat until the chicken is tender and the gravy thickens, about 25-30 minutes.
- 9 Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
