Ingredients
| 1 lb | pork shoulder |
| 1 tbsp | paprika |
| 1 tsp | garlic powder |
| 1 tsp | onion powder |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1 tsp | black pepper |
| 1 cup | barbecue sauce |
| 3 | burger buns |
| 1 cup | coleslaw |
| 2 tbsp | olive oil |
Instructions
- 1 Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- 2 Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- 3 Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 4 Sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned.
- 5 Transfer the pork to a slow cooker and pour barbecue sauce over it.
- 6 Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- 7 Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- 8 Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.
- 9 Toast the burger buns lightly in a skillet or toaster.
- 10 Assemble the sandwiches by placing a generous amount of pulled pork on each bun.
- 11 Top with coleslaw and the top half of the bun.
Tips
For a smokier flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the barbecue sauce.
