Ingredients

Idli Dosa Batter 1 cup Idli Dosa Batter
rice flour 2 tablespoons Rice flour
Flour 1 tablespoon Flour
Cumin 1 teaspoon Cumin , seeds
Onion 1 medium Onion , finely chopped
Cilantro 2 tablespoons Cilantro , chopped
Ginger 1 teaspoon Ginger , grated
salt Salt , to taste
oil Oil , for deep frying

Instructions

  1. 1 In a mixing bowl, combine the idli/dosa batter, rice flour, and all-purpose flour.
  2. 2 Add cumin seeds, chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chilies, grated ginger, and salt to the batter.
  3. 3 Mix well to form a thick batter. Adjust the consistency with a little water if needed.
  4. 4 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. 5 Once the oil is hot, drop small spoonfuls of the batter into the oil.
  6. 6 Fry the punugulu until they turn golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  7. 7 Remove the fried punugulu and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. 8 Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup.

Tips

Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent the punugulu from absorbing too much oil.
