Ingredients

Pork 300 grams Pork , cut into small cubes
mustard oil 1 tablespoon Mustard oil
turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
red chili powder 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
Cumin 1 teaspoon Cumin , powder
coriander powder 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
Ginger 1 teaspoon Ginger , paste
Garlic 1 teaspoon Garlic , paste
Onion 1 cup Onion , finely chopped
Tomato 1 cup Tomato , finely chopped
water 2 cups Water
Bay Leaf 2 pieces Bay Leaf
cinnamon 1 stick Cinnamon
cardamom 2 pieces Cardamom , green
Clove 4 pieces Clove
salt Salt , to taste
Cilantro Cilantro , fresh, for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1 Cut the pork into small cubes and wash thoroughly.
  2. 2 Heat mustard oil in a pan until it starts smoking.
  3. 3 Add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves to the oil and sauté for a few seconds.
  4. 4 Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  5. 5 Add ginger and garlic paste, and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
  6. 6 Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and oil starts separating.
  7. 7 Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.
  8. 8 Add the pork pieces and sauté on high heat for about 5-7 minutes.
  9. 9 Pour in water, cover, and let it simmer on low heat until the pork is tender and cooked through.
  10. 10 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.

Tips

For a richer flavor, marinate the pork with the spices for 30 minutes before cooking.
