Ingredients
| 2 cups | rice flour |
| 1 cup | water |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 1 tsp | baking soda |
| 1 tsp | sugar |
Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, salt, baking soda, and sugar.
- 2 Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while stirring continuously to form a smooth batter.
- 3 Allow the batter to rest for 10 minutes.
- 4 Heat a flat pan or griddle over medium heat.
- 5 Grease the pan lightly with oil or ghee.
- 6 Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it gently to form a small pancake.
- 7 Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes until the surface is cooked and the edges start to lift.
- 8 Remove the lid and flip the putharo to cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
- 9 Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
Tips
For a more authentic flavor, use freshly milled rice flour.
