Ingredients
| 1 cup | black gram (urad dal) |
| 1 cup | wheat flour |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| 1 teaspoon | fennel seeds |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 3 cups | water |
Instructions
- 1 Wash the black gram thoroughly and soak it in water overnight.
- 2 Drain the water and grind the soaked black gram into a coarse paste.
- 3 In a large bowl, mix the ground black gram paste with wheat flour, jaggery, fennel seeds, and a pinch of salt.
- 4 Gradually add water to the mixture to form a thick batter.
- 5 Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.
- 6 Pour a ladleful of batter into the pan and spread it evenly to form a thick pancake.
- 7 Cook on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.
- 8 Repeat with the remaining batter.
- 9 Serve the Ralli warm, optionally with a side of yogurt or chutney.
Tips
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of cardamom powder to the batter.
