1 liter full cream milk
1 cup paneer (cottage cheese)
2 tablespoons semolina
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 tablespoon rose water
1 pinch saffron strands
as needed ghee for frying
as needed Chopped pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1 Boil the milk in a heavy-bottomed pan and reduce it to half its original volume, stirring occasionally.
  2. 2 While the milk is boiling, knead the paneer with semolina until smooth and soft.
  3. 3 Divide the paneer mixture into small balls and flatten them slightly to form discs.
  4. 4 Heat ghee in a pan and fry the paneer discs on medium heat until they turn golden brown. Set aside.
